Rising Sons

CB Ray Buchanan Jr.
Son of Ray Buchanan
12-year NFL veteran
When your dad's nickname was "Big Play Ray," following in his footsteps can be tough. But Ray Buchanan Jr. is doing just fine.
"I feel the pressure of having a father that played in the NFL," the 5-foot-11, 175-pound senior said. "But it's been great. The knowledge he has taught me has been a blessing."
His dad starred in the NFL, most notably for the Atlanta Falcons.
"I always told him to be a good kid, a leader and respect the game because the game will respect you back," the elder Buchanan said. "I want him to have a chance. He's got a big head start."Ray Jr. hopes to have a career similar to his father's and perhaps a catchy nickname.
"Some of the coaches call me 'Little Play Ray,'" said Ray Jr., an Arkansas commit. "I know I have to earn it and I am working hard toward those goals."
