WR Trey Griffey Son of Ken Griffey Jr.
22-year MLB veteran, hit 630 career home runs
It's no surprise that George Kenneth Griffey III, better known as Trey, is a tremendous athlete. However, the fact that Trey's sport is football, not baseball, might be surprising to some.
"I just gravitated toward football more when I was younger," said Trey, whose dad, Ken Griffey Jr., and grandfather, Ken Griffey, both played over 20 years in the major leagues. "I haven't played baseball since I was 11."
The choice seems to be working out for Trey, an Under Armour All-American who has offers from Michigan State, Iowa State, Washington State, Florida International and several other schools. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound senior says his dad has never pressured him to take up the family profession.
"My father's always wanted me to play the sport that I am having the most fun playing," Trey said. "That's his big thing."
