Rising Sons

RB Kelvin Taylor
Son of Fred Taylor
13-year NFL veteran
Some players would find it difficult to play in the same town as their famous father did, but Kelvin Taylor isn't like most players.
The 6-foot, 200-pound junior plays at Belle Glades (Fla.) Day, just five minutes from Glades Central, where his dad, Fred, who rushed for over 11,000 yards in the NFL, played at in the early '90s.
"I love the Glades because this is the best football on earth whether it's us or Glades Central or Pahokee," Kelvin said. "Some people wonder why I'd want to make my name here but to be honest I couldn't imagine playing anywhere else."
Kelvin's efforts have guaranteed that the Taylor legacy will live on in the Glades for years to come. In November he broke Emmitt Smith's career state rushing record and should surpass the 10,000-yard mark early in his senior season.
