Rising Sons

RB Keith Byars Jr.
Son of Keith Byars
13-year NFL veteran
Former NFL running back Keith Byars was known for his unique running style that featured short, quick steps rather than the traditional longer strides. He was also known for his versatility as a runner, blocker and a receiver out of the backfield.
That's something his son, Keith Byars Jr., is happy to emulate.
"One thing about my dad was that he could do a number of things on the football field," Keith Jr. said. "That's something that he's taught me and something that I take pride in."
Keith Jr., who rushed had nearly a 1,000 yards and 14 TDs for Boca Raton (Fla.) this season, was coached by his father last season and enjoyed the experience.
"I always learn a lot from him but I learned a lot about him when he was coaching me," Keith Jr. said.
