Energy Dashboard: Notre Dame's user-friendly energy dashboard enables students to view, compare, and share building energy use information in real time on the web. The interactive dashboard was created by Lucid Design Group, a software company that specializes in information feedback that inspires energy and resource conservation. The dashboard engages students not just by providing real-time data, but also by giving them a social media-based forum to commit to energy-saving behaviors and share winning strategies. In the most recent dorm energy competition, the winning residence hall reduced its electricity consumption by an impressive 52% below its baseline, and the 29 dorms on campus achieved an average reduction of 16%.
