SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- The Utah Starzz try for another
victory on Saturday night when they host the Portland Fire in
the second game of the season for both clubs. Utah opened the season with an 81-62 win at Phoenix Wednesday. Adrienne Goodson scored 16 points and Natalie Willliams and Korie Hlede each added 14. The Starzz missed the playoffs last season by two games while posting their first winning season in franchise history. Portland seeks its first victory after dropping their season opener to Minnesota, 82-65, on Thursday. Rookie Jackie Stiles, the NCAA's all-time leading scorer out of Southwest Missouri State, made an impressive debut with 15 points in the first half. But Stiles was held to just a pair of free throws in the second half. Sophia Witherspoon finished with 10 points for Portland, which shot just 33 percent (20-of-60). The Fire made just 2-of-17 from beyond the arc. These teams meet twice more this season in July, both in Portland.
