16. Creighton
The Bluejays will tout one of the top players in America this season -- and also one of the best teams. Creighton will be about far more than forward Doug McDermott, who is expected to contend for national POY honors after averaging 22.9 points and 8.2 rebounds as a sophomore. Other than point guard Antoine Young, the Jays return every key player from a squad that finished 29-6 overall and 14-4 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Senior Gregory Echenique should be much-improved after dropping down to 265 pounds in the offseason. Guard Grant Gibbs, who averaged a team-high 5.0 assists, is also back. Creighton will likely enter the season ranked in the top 15 or 20 and should be the favorite over Wichita State and Illinois State in the MVC. -- Jason King
