CGD Eco Challenge

Recycling: For FY2011, LSU diverted 34.3% of its waste from the landfill. The LSU Recycles program continues to grow with the addition of game days recycling efforts inside and outside the stadium. "Recycling Tiger" student volunteers distribute bags and encourage tailgaters to show their Tiger Pride by doing their part to recycle on campus and at home. LSU also takes advantage of local single stream recycling opportunities, requires 50% of all construction debris to be diverted from landfills, and recycles all scrap metals, concrete and tree trimmings. Most of the metal and concrete from the demolition of the old Alex Box baseball field was recycled or reused.
