CGD Eco Challenge

Project Clean Plate: Project Clean Plate is a green initiative that encourages the reduction of food waste. This program weighs the amount of wasted food in the resident dining program for the period of one week to raise awareness in our students of the impact of food waste and to continue to reduce the amount of waste in our dining program. Students are encouraged to keep waste to a minimum, portion their meals appropriately, and take only what they know they will eat. In just 6 weeks, LSU Dining tracked over 20% reduction in food waste and made a sizable donation to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank just before Thanksgiving. This program runs once a semester.
