That time was the 1930s, and the '38 team was downright dominant -- heading into the Rose Bowl against USC, the Blue Devils hadn't surrendered a point all season. But fourth-string Trojans quarterback Doyle Nave became the unlikely streak buster. Nave completed four straight fourth-quarter passes, the last covering 19 yards to "Antelope" Al Krueger for the winning score in a 7-3 USC triumph.
