36. At A Loss
Joe Heap's TD puts Irish ahead of SoonersSept. 26, 1953: Ralph Guglielmi threw two touchdown passes to Joe Heap on a hot day in Norman, Okla., this one putting Notre Dame ahead of Oklahoma for the first time in the third quarter. The Irish held on for a 28-21 victory. It would be four more years before anyone saw the Sooners lose again, as they would go on to win a record 47 straight games before falling to an underdog Irish team in November 1957.
