No one has made a bigger impact on Swinney's coaching career than former Alabama coach Gene Stallings. The week Swinney landed the Clemson job full-time, Stallings flew up to meet with his protege, and they snapped a few photos to remember the moment -- just a few of the many pictures of Stallings around Swinney's office.
"He was an unbelievable mentor for me," Swinney said. "I do a lot of things today structurally the way he did it. I understand a whole lot more now than I did back then as to why he did them the way he did. I talk to him, keep up with him, and he's become a great friend, not just a mentor."
