2011 Preseason All-America Baseball Team

Taylor Jungmann
Right-handed pitcher | TexasJungmann ranked in the nation's top 10 with a 2.00 ERA as a freshman in 2009 and a 2.03 mark in 2010. But after smothering eventual national champ LSU in the CWS final as a freshman, the lanky righty didn't get the chance for another CWS showcase after TCU out-Texased Texas in last year's super-regionals. The Longhorns' season ended short of Omaha despite a 50-13 record and setting Big 12 records for most consecutive (17) and total (24) wins. Don't blame Jungmann, who mixed his low-90s fastball, power breaking ball and excellent changeup to hold TCU to only one run while recording nine strikeouts in Texas' lone super-regional win. That outing was like most for Jungmann, a quiet dominator who set a career best with 17 strikeouts against Iowa.
