2011 Preseason All-America Baseball Team

Trevor Bauer
Right-handed pitcher | UCLAWhile UCLA teammate Gerrit Cole is the traditional tall power pitcher who was a first-round draft pick out of high school, Bauer is anything but conventional. He skipped his senior year of high school to enroll early at UCLA and works with a windup that reminds some of Tim Lincecum. Bauer dominated like Lincecum a year ago, becoming the first UCLA pitcher to lead the nation in strikeouts. The 6-foot-2 Bauer used his four-pitch mix that features a low-90s fastball, solid changeup, cutter and breaking ball to register eight games with double-digit strikeouts a season ago, including both of his starts in Omaha and against LSU in the regionals.
