On one of the bookshelves in Richt's office is a black-and-white photograph from his senior season at Miami in 1982.
The photo from Miami was taken before Richt's senior season. It includes the other four quarterbacks he was competing against: future Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Kelly, future NFL first-round draft choices Bernie Kosar and Vinny Testaverde and Kyle Vanderwende. His quarterbacks coach, Earl Morrall, was even an NFL first-round pick in 1956 and won three Super Bowl championships.
"It just shows you what I was up against as a player at Miami," Richt said.
