Inside Gary Andersen's Office - View 1

Andersen is big on signs and mottoes, and he has the 2014 Wisconsin team sign in his office. It reads: Everyone Starts/Winners Sustain/Champions Finish!
"It's easy to start things," Andersen explains. "You always use the analogy, 'On Jan. 1, how many people are starting something every single year, whether it's a diet or something?' The winners can sustain through that as the year goes on, but the champions have to be able to finish that thing."
Wisconsin returned only nine starters from the 2013 team and just three on defense. Position competitions on both sides of the ball, combined with a blockbuster season opener against LSU, elevated both curiosity and excitement around the team.
But Andersen takes a long-term view with the sign.
"When Game 6 hits us and we face adversity and we don't play well or we drop a game, whatever comes our way, how are we going to react?" he says. "The winners have got to sustain, and hopefully, we'll have an opportunity to get into a championship moment."
