Inside Nick Saban's Office - View 2

In the offseason, Saban does enjoy playing golf. Contrary to popular belief, he's not thinking football and watching film 24-7. Probably just 22-7.
Either way, one of his best buddies is Alabama golf coach Jay Seawell, whose signature is on a $5 bill from a friendly wager Saban collected on while playing a round at Augusta National two years ago. To be fair, Seawell claims that Saban stacked the teams. Saban's partner was PGA Tour player Michael Thompson, who was the 2008 SEC Player of the Year while playing at Alabama.
"The real story is they were down 14 bucks after we played the actual course and they beat us on the par-3 to get back to $5," Saban says. "I made sure he signed it and show every freakin' golf recruit that comes through here."
Saban has been able to play Augusta National every year since he's been at Alabama.
"I love the place. It's the neatest place in the world, just a great golf course," Saban says. "The people there make you feel so at home when you're there. It's not like you're at a club."
