Fight Credential

Tenacity
Cotto has enjoyed a well-orchestrated career in which he has rarely been an underdog and has never fought in front of an entirely hostile crowd. And even given the mitigating factor of Margarito's possible use of illegal hand wraps in their first fight, Cotto's surrender in the 11th round is reason enough to doubt his fire just a bit. Mayweather has been hit low, suffered a broken hand during a fight and felt pressure against many opponents, but aside from the rare bike ride, he has never really backed down. Then again, how often has he truly been tested? Having fought through some horrific injuries without losing his poise or making lame excuses, Cotto gets the nod here.
Advantage: Cotto
