Meyer has had an audience with a handful of U.S. presidents, including George W. Bush, who stopped by Meyer's house when the President's Cup golf event was played in his neighborhood at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio.
Snapshots of his meetings with the most powerful men in America line the back wall of Meyer's office, and while he's comfortable now around Bush, he cracks jokes about his nerves the first time he shakes hands with a president.
"Each one of them was so different," Meyer said. "With [Barack] Obama, I was a little nervous. When I got there, they said the president would like to meet with you for five minutes. I was like, 'You've got to be kidding me.' We sat down, and I can't remember anything we said, I was so nervous."
