East Coast Lob City
It was 90 feet of basketball artistry. Early in a game against the Pacers, Wade snatched a rebound off a Danny Granger missed shot on what was then the Conseco Fieldhouse floor. He turned quickly to see a streaking LeBron approaching half court. With a quick hop-step, Wade, channeling some other QB in Indy, propelled a one-armed pass the length of the floor, which LeBron caught midair, just beneath the right side of the rim, for the layup.
These two already had connected on impressive lob plays in their first few months together. But this was perfection. It was athleticism and precision and teamwork all displayed in one marvelously executed basketball play.
It was the kind of play you could only hope to see once these two decided to become teammates. Oh, and they did it again a couple of years later in a home game versus Houston.
