2014 NBA playoffs: Miami Heat during the Big Three era

March 21, 2014
Mike Miller's Return
When the Big Three was formed in Miami, they needed help. And Miller was one of the first players Riley thought of. Miller turned down more money from other teams to sign with Miami. He endured three injury-plagued seasons and erratic playing time, while still managing to have memorable performances, such as hitting seven 3s in the championship-clinching Game 5 against Oklahoma City, or his one-shoe 3 in Game 6 against the Spurs.
But Miller was eventually released via the amnesty provision in the summer of 2013, a move made necessary by the punishing collective bargaining agreement.
When Miller returned to AmericanAirlines Arena as a member of the Grizzlies this season, the Heat welcomed him back with great affection. He was a brother for three years. He remains one, just in a different uniform.
