Kobe To Bron: Shoot!
Has there ever been a reluctant shooter in an NBA All-Star Game? Once again, LeBron proved he's more Magic than Michael. With his East team trailing 151-149, LeBron twice had an opportunity to take a 3-pointer to put his team ahead in the final 16 seconds.
First, he passed to Deron Williams, who missed. And then after an offensive rebound, LeBron had the ball again, with Kobe Bryant guarding him and giving him space to launch a long 3. James already had hit six 3s in the game. Go ahead and take another one, right? Who's gonna care if you miss? Kobe was yelling at him to "shoot the f---ing ball." But no. LeBron tried a cross-court pass to Wade that was intercepted by Blake Griffin.
It was just an All-Star Game, but it didn't stop the "LeBron's not clutch" narrative afterward. Carmelo Anthony's bitter-beer face after LeBron's turnover spoke for many people.
