In Game 2, the Grizzlies led by five (98-93) with 18 seconds left. The Thunder called timeout, trying to find a 3-pointer to at least force the Grizzlies to make a free throw or two. The play was quickly thwarted by noted pest Tony Allen, with Russell Westbrook throwing an off-balance pass to Kevin Durant in the corner.

Seven-footer Marc Gasol closed out just a bit too hard, bumping Durant as he heaved a 3 from his hip before falling into the arms of court-side fans. Even with the awkward release, it looked good the moment it left Durant's hands. Splash, plus the foul, and a one-point game.

The most amazing part of the whole sequence: Durant's shot really wasn't the most improbable part of OKC's comeback. After Mike Conley split free throws, Westbrook fired wildly from 3, but offensively challenged Kendrick Perkins was able to catch, jump and release before the buzzer sounded, sending Game 2 into overtime. The Grizzlies, though, responded in impressive fashion to even up the series 1-1.

Then the Thunder did it all over again in Game 3. It was Westbrook this time taking a hit on the arm from an overzealous Allen, knocking down a 3 plus the foul to tie the game 85-85 with 26 seconds left. It was part of seven points in two possessions from Westbrook, but apparently four-point plays were a bad omen for the Thunder; they went on to lose that one in overtime, too.
