Jason Verrett
Cornerback | TCUIn the pass-happy Big 12, lockdown corners who can take away the opponent's best receiver are at a premium. And in Jason Verrett, TCU has just that. In 2012, Verrett checked West Virginia's Stedman Bailey and Oklahoma's Kenny Stills -- two of the most prolific receivers in the country -- for a combined four catches for 46 yards. Opposing quarterbacks challenged Verrett at their own peril, as he led the Big 12 with six interceptions and ranked second nationally in passes defended per game. Verrett is also stout against the run; he already has the two best tackling seasons of any TCU cornerback of the past decade. The Horned Frogs should have the Big 12's best defense again -- in large part because of their lockdown corner.
