Stephon Tuitt

Defensive end | Notre Dame

Stephon Tuitt called last fall's 12-sack campaign a "learning year." What, exactly, does that mean for the junior this fall? Opposing quarterbacks are loath to find out, especially after it was revealed this spring that Tuitt played some of the 2012 season while nursing a sports hernia that required a minor postseason operation. Now fully healed and up to a listed 322 pounds, Tuitt, whom teammates describe as a "freak," finds himself at the center of the national spotlight. Another strong season for the relative newcomer -- he's entering just his seventh season of organized football -- could force his hand early, with many scouts projecting Tuitt as an early first-round draft pick. -- Matt Fortuna
