ESPN.com Preseason Power Rankings 2013

1. Alabama
Some programs fall off, some programs rebuild and some programs never miss a beat. Alabama has become the latter under Nick Saban. Never mind that the Tide lost three-fifths of the most dominant offensive line in college football and two-thirds of a defensive line that held Notre Dame's stout running game to 32 yards in the BCS National Championship Game. And forget the obvious setback of seeing both the shutdown cornerback and the three-year starter at safety depart for the NFL. All of that is secondary to the expectations Saban has fostered. With veteran QB AJ McCarron, a prolific group of WRs and a defense led by All-American LB C.J. Mosley, it's once again championship or bust. -- Alex Scarborough
