T-6. South Carolina
South Carolina keeps knocking on the door of what a lot of people didn't think was possible when Steve Spurrier returned to college coaching in 2005, and that's winning an SEC championship. The Gamecocks are one of two SEC teams (Alabama being the other one) to win 11 or more games each of the past two seasons. But they haven't been to the SEC championship game since 2010 and need to find a way to get over that hump. Having the game's most dynamic defensive player, Jadeveon Clowney, should help, not to mention a pair of veteran quarterbacks in Connor Shaw and Dylan Thompson. The schedule is also a little easier. Maybe this is the year they kick in that door. -- Chris Low
