4. Michigan
Michigan arguably boasts America's top point guard in savvy playmaker Trey Burke. But the Wolverines aren't ranked this high simply because he and multiple pieces from last season's Big Ten co-championship squad are back. John Beilein finally has a skilled true big man in the paint. Freshman Mitch McGary is an aggressive center who's equipped to handle himself in the rugged Big Ten. It opens up a multitude of possibilities for the Wolverines, who pack power at every position on the floor, despite the loss of Zack Novak. Glenn Robinson Jr. is a scorer who'll boost UM's overall athleticism. Novak's shooting (41 percent from the 3-point line in 2011-12) will be missed, but Beilein's upgrades around the floor should make this a better squad overall. -- Myron Medcalf
