CGD Eco Challenge

CycleUShare: CycleUshare is a UT Civil and Environmental Engineering research project providing both electric and regular bikes for free to students and staff through bike sharing stations. The project provides an alternative mode of transportation for its users; 17 percent of the trips using CycleUshare bikes have replaced trips that would have been made either by personal car or bus. With this system, a 10 to 15 mile trip requires only 0.024KWh of electricity. The newest CycleUshare station (pictured) operates completely off grid by a 1kW photovoltaic array.
