CGD Eco Challenge

Composting: The UT composting program has diverted more than 1,000 tons of material from the landfill since its inception in May 2010, saving over $45,000 in disposal costs. As part of the program, organic waste from UT's grounds and dining locations is collected and transported to an on-campus composting site. The resulting compost is used as fertilizer for crops produced at the UT Organic & Sustainable Crops Unit. For more information, visit utk.edu/go/cf.
