Boxing's Heavyweight Championship Lineage

Buster Douglas
1990
A journeyman heavyweight, Douglas scored possibly the biggest upset in boxing history in 1990 when he overcame 42-to-1 odds to knock out unbeaten Mike Tyson in Tokyo.
Douglas would never again perform at the same level and was knocked out eight months later in his championship defense by Evander Holyfield. Douglas, who earned a then-record purse of over $24 million, came in overweight and retired after the bout. In the ensuing years, he ballooned to nearly 400 pounds and survived a nearly fatal diabetic coma before making a short comeback.
