12. Baylor
There are mammoth expectations for a team that hasn't won a conference title since 1950. And rightfully so. No team in the Big 12 -- and only a few in the entire country -- can match the talent of the Bears, who boast a pair of potential first-round draft picks in forwards Perry Jones III and Quincy Miller. They'll be joined in the paint by returning starters Quincy Acy and Anthony Jones. But the biggest reason for hope lies in the backcourt, where a lack of depth kept Baylor out of last season's NCAA tourney. Point guard A.J. Walton returns, but he's being pushed by newcomers Pierre Jackson (junior college national POY) and Brady Heslip (BC transfer). Each will be part of the rotation for team that hopes to end Kansas' seven-year run as Big 12 champion. -- Jason King
