13. Nebraska
Seldom has so much depended on one ankle. When QB Taylor Martinez was healthy last season, Big Red scored big. But as his ankle suffered, so did the offense. He rushed for 12 TDs in his first five games, but zero in Nebraska's final nine contests. New offensive coordinator Tim Beck will lighten the load on T-Magic by distributing the ball more to speedy playmakers, led by RB Rex Burkhead. On defense, the front seven should be a rock against the run. With tackles Jared Crick and Baker Steinkuhler eating up blockers, the linebackers should be devastating. If the Cornhuskers can improve their pass rush to help a rebuilt secondary, this could be the best defense in the Big Ten. -- Trevor Matich, ESPN TV analyst
