2011 Preseason All-America Baseball Team

Jeremy Baltz
Outfield | St. John'sBaltz went 3-for-4 in his college debut, then hit his first homer a week later. That fast start still didn't prepare the nation for what the lanky 6-foot-3 freshman was about to unleash. Baltz enjoyed a four-HR game against a top-10 Louisville team in May before adding four more HRs in NCAA regionals, two of which came in one game against No. 1 Virginia, including a two-run game winner. Baltz finished the year with 24 home runs (three off the national lead) and 85 RBIs, both stats led all freshmen and the Big East while establishing St. John's school records. Baltz, who batted .396, earned All-America honors across the nation -- not just the freshman team -- and then backed that up by hitting better than .300 in the wood bat New England Collegiate League over the summer.
