Inside Chris Petersen's Office - View 2
- The H.A. Award
- "Mighty are the men"
- It matches the furniture
Amid the numerous awards and accolades Petersen has garnered over his years of coaching, there's one that sits in his office that he doesn't want: The Horse's Ass Award, which also is referred to as the H.A. Award.
The award is given to whichever member of Petersen's staff has most recently made a mistake -- on the field, in the offices or anywhere.
It's a tradition Petersen brought with him from Boise State, and the trophy -- on a white base with a flame-adorned column and a horse's back half -- was only in Petersen's office this summer because he had wanted to make sure it made the trip from Idaho to Washington safely.
"You can earn it various ways," Petersen said. "No one wants it, and it should be out of this office soon."
