Postseason Success
Missouri finished 11-2 with a No. 5 national ranking. The Tigers led in the second half of the SEC championship game before Auburn rallied. Then Missouri defeated former Big 12 rival and No. 17 Oklahoma State in the AT&T Cotton Bowl.
Sam was named SEC co-defensive player of the year and was a consensus first-team All-American at defensive end. He tied a school single-season record with 11.5 sacks, which also led the SEC, and posted career highs for sacks, solo tackles (31), total tackles (48) and tackles for a loss (19).
NFL draft experts projected Sam as a third- to fifth-round selection.
