Kenney wins 10-game bracelet

Bryn Kenney had enough of the close calls at the World Series of Poker. After 25 cashes and four final tables, including two already this year, Kenney was tired of watching the key pots pushed away from his stack. In Event 63, the six-handed 10-game mixed event, Kenney was the beneficiary of the deck and won his first WSOP bracelet and $153,200. This was Kenney's fourth major tournament victory and boosts his lifetime live earnings to $3.6 million.

"It feels great. I would have been really upset if I didn't take this tournament home," Kenney said to the WSOP. "I'm happy I could win it for me, my family, and all my friends."

Attendance grew significantly year-over-year, rising from 372 to to 445. The three-day event featured many of the game's best, as well as main event hopefuls who came in a few days early to play some extra events. Regardless of the composition, Kenney thrived throughout the event and coasted through the final table to earn the win.

"I almost always get deep in the six-max tournaments, so it's great to finally win one," he said. "The last time I was this close I [was drawn out on]. It's nice to get some redemption back."

Kenney defeated Jan Suchanek for the title. Suchanek has six career WSOP cashes and two final tables. Randy Ohel finished sixth at his second final table of the summer. Brandon Shack-Harris finished 21st and will own the lead in the WSOP Player of the Year race heading into the main event.
