Brooks resigns as Kalamazoo football coach

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- After a three-year record of 7-21,
Terrance Brooks has resigned as Kalamazoo College football coach.

Assistant coach Eric Soulier will fill in while the school seeks
a replacement.

"I appreciate the efforts and hard work of the players and
coaching staff the past three seasons," Brooks said in a news
release.

He was named the school's 24th head football coach in January
2005. The team's record in his first season was 4-6, a three-game
improvement over the previous year. He won a total of two games
over the next two seasons.

"We are very sorry to see coach Brooks leave the college,"
president Eileen B. Wilson-Oyelaran said in the release. "He has
been an outstanding role model for our scholar athletes on the
field, in the classroom and across the campus."
