UPDATE 1-Cricket-South Africa v Pakistan scoreboard - tea

KARACHI, Oct 4 - Jacques Kallis scored his second
hundred of the first test against Pakistan on Thursday to put
South Africa in control at tea on the fourth day at the
National stadium.

Kallis became only the fourth South African batsman to
score two centuries in a test, reaching his century just before
tea as his side declared their second innings on 264 for seven.

This left Pakistan needing to score 424 runs for victory or
to bat out five sessions for an honorable draw.

Kallis notched 155 runs in the first innings, which helped
push South Africa's score to 450.

Kallis's knock spanned 201 balls, 291 minutes and featured
just four boundaries and one six. He played patiently on a
pitch that allowed Pakistani spinners Danish Kaneria and left
armer Abdul Rehman plenty of bite.

Resuming on 18, Kallis first shared a valuable stand of 88
with Ashwell Prince (45) in the first session and then teamed
up for 56 with Mark Boucher (29).

Boucher fell after lunch, caught at long-on by Misbah off
the bowling of Kaneria, but Kallis found a willing partner in
Andre Nel (33) with whom he put on 63 for the seventh wicket.

Nel was also caught by Misbah off debutant Rehman, who
finished with eight for 210 runs in the match.
