Falcons sign 13 undrafted free agents

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons have signed 13
undrafted college free agents, including running back Justin
Vincent of LSU.

Also among the 13 free agents announced Tuesday are two Georgia
players, linebacker Tony Taylor and punter Gordon Ely-Kelso, whose
signings were confirmed on Monday.

Vincent (5-10, 219) rushed for 2,030 yards and 17 touchdowns in
his career at LSU. His best game came against Georgia in the 2003
Southeastern Conference championship game at the Georgia Dome, when
he rushed for 201 yards.

Vincent set an LSU freshman record in 2003 with 1,001 yards
rushing.

The Falcons signed three undrafted wide receivers, Eric Newman
of Louisiana Tech, Eric Weems of Bethune-Cookman and Vincent
Marshall of Houston.

The team also signed two offensive linemen who played for new
coach Bobby Petrino at Louisville, Kurt Quarterman and Renardo
Foster.

Foster (6-7, 325) and Quarterman (6-5, 328) helped Louisville's
offense score 491 points.

The other signings announced by the Falcons on Tuesday:
defensive lineman Noland Burchette, Virginia Tech; safety Jermaine
Johnson, Mississippi State; defensive lineman David Patterson, Ohio
State), defensive lineman Kelly Talavou, Utah; and safety Ryan
West, Tennessee.

Burchette (6-2, 263) started 29 games at Virginia Tech and
recorded 137 tackles and 10.5 sackes.

Johnson, an Atlanta native, had seven career interceptions at
Mississippi State.
