Ailing Pavel Datsyuk sits out Team Russia loss

NHL, Detroit Red Wings

TORONTO -- Veteran Russian forward Pavel Datsyuk did not play in the team's 5-2 loss to Team Canada on Saturday night during the semifinals of the World Cup of Hockey at Air Canada Centre.

Datsyuk, 38, suffered a lower-body injury during Wednesday's practice and exited the ice. He did not play in Russia's 3-0 win over Finland on Thursday to advance to the semifinals.

It's likely that Datsyuk has played his last game in North America since he will return and finish his career in the KHL.
