Miami went quietly through the Big East season, winning the games it needed to and finishing in the top three. The Hurricanes are led by the backcourt of Johnny Hemsley and Vernon Jennings, and Mario Bland provides a strong inside force.

Hemsley puts up better than 18 points a game, and when he's good, the 'Canes are good. Hemsley's a pretty good 3-point shooter, but he's even better inside the arc, and the 'Canes get him the rock any way they can.

(A) One of the top assist men in the Big East, Vernon Jennings (30) is always at the eye of the Hurricane, and he begins the action with a pass to Elton Tyler (25) and screen away.
(B) Johnny Hemsley (31) is where the damage is done for the 'Canes. He starts on the weak side and flashes to the high post.

(C) If Hemsley (31) isn't open right away, John Salmons (45) swings the ball back to Jennings (30) on the left side.
(D) This is the combination the 'Canes want -- Jennings to Hemsley. Jennings puts the ball in just the right spot, and Hemsley knocks down the easy jumper.
