Buffalo Blues (Pittsburgh, PA)

About the bar

Opened in 1996 on the "shady side " of Shadyside or was it East Liberty then ? No matter, us yinzers called it Sliberty before it became the foodie hot bed it is now.

In the beginning we were a live music venue that brought in National Blues acts, hence the Blues in our name. The original menu had a Southern Comfort food theme with a specialty in wings. Hence the Buffalo in our name. Put the two together and we came up with Buffalo Blues. Along with the bluesy sounds of Dr. John we had a few pool tables in the back, and 16TVs which was a BIG deal back then! We were a sports bar in the making without even trying!

In the summer of '97 we won our first Pittsburgh wing cook off contest which established us as 'thee' place in Pittsburgh for wings. The following year a good friend called with an opportunity to host the initial season of the Jerome Bettis show. Taped live every week at Buffalo Blues it catapulted us into the Sports Bar market. Thanks, Bobby !

We kept adding additional TVs, said goodbye to the stage and pool tables so that we could say hello to a greater number of sports fans. Next thing we knew we were Pittsburgh's best neighborhood Sports Bar. We don't sit on a campus and we don't sit near the stadium. We sit in a residential neighborhood...the epitome of a neighborhood restaurant.

With over 30 TVs and four separate seating areas we are the game day place for fans from all over (especially Buffalo!). But no matter who else is playing we are a Pittsburgh bar and love our hometown favorites: Steelers, Penguins, Panthers, and even our Pirates!
We offer 32 beers on tap, an award winning menu of wings and BBQ, and our famous All U Can Eat Wings every Wednesday night. Come for the wings, come for the beer, come to meet up with friends and family to watch a game. In other words come to Buffalo Blues to Eat, Drink and Cheer!
