About the bar : If you're talkin' sports than your talkin' our language! We're sports nuts so we looked at everything our guests look at to figure out how to create the perfect sports viewing experience. We looked at everything from the placement of our 40+ big screens, to our menu, to the way we train our staff. We put that all together and created Hickory Tavern! If the game is on, with 12 satellites, it's on at the Tavern – and there isn't a bad seat in the house. In addition to being a world-class place to watch sports, we're famous for our extensive menu – especially our wings. And if you like beer, our beer list of 100 beers will certainly please. C'mon out, settle in, watch some sports, talk some smack and have a good time at Hickory Tavern!
jmjohnson's nomination: I would like to nominate Hickory Tavern in Charlotte, NC. It's by far the best place to watch a game with your friends in the state. The food ranges from fish tacos to typical southern BBQ. But it doesn't matter what you order, it's all delicious.
There is a different craft beer featured every day as a special. You name it, they've probably had it at one time or another. If you're short on cash however, you can always get a trusty can of PBR.
I come here every Sunday during the NFL season. The atmosphere is second to none with rowdy fans from teams all over cheering and trash talking. Having been to several Panthers games over the years, I can safely tell you, it's often better than going to the actual game.
You just won't find a better sports bar in either of the Carolinas.
