Oklahoma State Notches Big 12 Crown

Oklahoma State is heading back home with another Big 12 team title after winning their second consecutive crown Saturday night in Ames, Iowa.

Paced by five champions, the Cowboys scored 77 points to easily take home the team crown. Missouri managed to rally for a second-place finish after collecting two individual titles on the night, including a victory by No. 5 Dom Bradley at heavyweight over No. 14 Nathan Fernandez of Oklahoma to overtake the Sooner, 60.0-59.5.

Rounding out the final two spots were Nebraska and Iowa State. The Cornhuskers received a pair of titles from David Klingsheim (125) and a hard-fought win by top-ranked and undefeated Jordan Burroughs (165) over No. 3 Tyler Caldwell (Oklahoma).

The toughest night had to belong to Oklahoma. Despite having five finalists, the Sooners went 0-5 in the title round in head coach Jack Spates' final Big 12 Championship.

With the NCAA Tournament up next for the qualifiers at each weight class, the final preparations will be made to make a run at an individual and team championship.

Oklahoma State figures to have the best chance to take home the team crown in Philadelphia for the Big 12 this season with the balance across the board that the team has.

On an individual side, the Big 12 will send four unbeaten wrestlers to nationals, as well as 34 other automatic qualifiers.
