Longhorns land commitment from 6-7 prospect Sedona Prince

Sedona Prince, a 6-foot 7 center at Liberty Hill (Texas) and the No. 9 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Super 60 for the 2018 class, has committed to Texas -- again.

Prince, who averaged 16.4 points, 11.0 rebounds and 7.2 blocks per game as a sophomore at Liberty Hill, chose the Longhorns over Notre Dame and UConn.

"I visited Notre Dame and had a great visit," she said. "I didn't visit UConn. I just felt a comfort level with Texas, and if the school were not in Texas, I would still want to go there. Distance was not a part of my process."

Prince originally committed to the Longhorns in 2014 and held that commitment for a year before reopening her recruitment. "I wanted to see what else was out there for me," she said.

In Prince, the Longhorns landed one of the elite low-post prospects in the nation. She continues to evolve, with both a back-to-basket game as well as a face-up threat to the arc. Over the summer, Prince was a member of Team USA, which won the bronze medal at the 2016 FIBA U17 world championships in Zaragoza, Spain.

Prince is the second member of Texas' 2018 class. She joins three-star wing Shae Routt. Longhorns coach Karen Aston, who signed a three-year extension last week, has one 2017 commitment, from point guard Chasity Patterson, the No. 4 senior prospect in the nation.

Texas' freshman class, headlined by ultra-athletic forward Joyner Holmes, was ranked No. 4 in the nation.
