Associated Press

WIMBLEDON, England -- Mark Philippoussis and Natasha Zvereva were given wild cards to Wimbledon on Monday.

The 26-year-old Philippoussis, making a comeback after a series of knee injuries, reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon for three consecutive years from 1998. That same year, the Australian lost to Patrick Rafter in the U.S. Open final.

The 31-year-old Zvereva, of Belarus, reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in 1990, '92 and '93, and won three doubles titles at the All England Club from 1991-94. She is returning from a two-year break from tennis.

The other men's wild cards are James Auckland, Alex Bogdanovic, Jamie Delgado, Arvind Palmar and Barry Cowen.

The women's wild cards are Lucie Ahl, Elena Baltacha, Anne Keothavong, Jane O'Donoghue, Julie Pullin and Rachel Viollet.

Juan Carlos Ferrero, runner-up to Albert Costa in the French Open final Sunday, was paired with fellow Spaniard Tommy Robredo for a men's doubles wild card.

Wimbledon is scheduled to begin June 24.
