CANBERRA, Australia -- Thailand's Tamarine Tanasugarn has moved a step closer to her first WTA victory by reaching the final of the Canberra Classic.
Top seed Tanasugarn, who has won eight times on the ITF tour, beat American Lilia Osterloh 6-4, 6-4 and now plays Anna Smashnova in the final.
The Israeli defeated Australia's Amanda Grahame 7-5, 6-2.
The 24-year-old Tanasugarn has played in three previous WTA finals, including last year's Japan Open, but said she was not feeling under pressure to break her drought.
"If it happens, it happens -- I have no expectations," she said.
"It would be a great feeling to start the beginning of this year, but I just go out there and do my job. I don't think I have to win, I just try my best on each point."
Smashnova collected her third career title when she won last weekend's New Zealand Open and hasn't dropped a set all tournament in reaching the final.
