MELBOURNE, Australia -- We've got two great semifinals that could be won by virtually anyone.
Semifinal picks
Martina Hings (3), Switzerland, vs. Monica Seles (7), United States
It wouldn't be surprising if either of these players wins this matchup. Both are former champions here -- Seles last Grand Slam win was at the Australian Open in 1996. This will be Hingis' first real test so far. Seles is on her game and Hingis is looking great this year.
Pick: Seles
Jennifer Capriati (1), United States, vs. Kim Clijsters (4), Belgium
This is a great war. Capriati has improved every match she's played, particularly in the last three, so she has the slightest edge. Clijsters will be the more inspired to win based on what she's seen of the success of boyfriend Lleyton Hewitt. She wants to join him in the winner's circle. Capriati is likely to win, but Clijsters could pull a surprise.
Pick: Capriati
