Cubs scratch Ramirez, Bradley

CHICAGO -- Third baseman Aramis Ramirez and right fielder Milton Bradley have been scratched from the Chicago Cubs' starting lineup.

Ramirez was set to play Friday against Pittsburgh after missing three games with a shoulder injury. He was pulled because of a head cold, and Jake Fox took his spot.

Bradley was taken out of the lineup because of a sore right hip. Sam Fuld took his place.

Ramirez, the team's cleanup hitter and a two-time All-Star, has played in only 43 games. He was on the disabled list with a dislocated left shoulder from May 9 to July 5.

Both Ramirez and Bradley hoped to play Saturday against the Pirates.
